Amador Mutual Aid

A small group of EDSAR members traveled to Amador County, today, lead by Deputy James Morgan. The subject was a 62 year old male, missing four days, in rugged country at 2600 feet. The day before, a dog team found the subject's hat.
Today, on February 7, 2009, the subject was found deceased.

From Phil Dold

Some have asked... We are smiling because we are relieved to be back at the trucks. Hard hike through heavy brush.

A team near us located subject 1144. We were held on scene for a while in case we had to help with a carry out. Thanks to H20 we only had to walk ourselves out.

Seems subject flew model planes. Ma) have went looking for a lost one (parts were found). Traveled down hill. Took off shoes and hat at the creek at bottom. Sometime later, suffering from hypothermia he hiked straight up the opposite side of the creek to the top, through some heavy brush and into a very small clearing. Team 6 from Amador, we think, found him by "luck" they say.
